Season of The Witch: Agatha All Along Review

Evil is brewing on Disney+ as Kathryn Hahn brings something wicked in Agatha All Along.

When a fresh wave of tragedies hits Westview, the notorious Agatha Harkness is left powerless—until a mysterious goth teen frees her from a twisted enchantment. Intrigued, Agatha listens as he pleads for her help in navigating the fabled Witches' Road, a perilous magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they're missing. Reluctantly drawn in, Agatha and the enigmatic teen assemble a ragtag coven and embark on a dangerous descent down the legendary Road.

Kathryn Hahn’s portrayal of Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has captured audiences with her sly, dark humor and magnetic presence, which is now set to continue in the spin-off series Agatha All Along. The series will delve deeper into Agatha’s backstory, exploring her witchcraft and her rise to power. Known for her scene-stealing performance in WandaVision, Hahn’s return promises a wickedly fun blend of villainy, intrigue, and magic, with Agatha All Along serving as both a catchy anthem and a preview of the chaos to come. Fans can expect layers of mystery, dark humor, and perhaps some unexpected moral complexities as Agatha’s story unfolds.

With only two episodes airing so far, the show brings a wicked streak as it features an all-star cast, including Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Debra Jo Rupp, Ali Ahn, and Sasheer Zamata. It's fun, exciting, and I can't wait to see the rest of the series! Joe Locke is perfectly cast, just as expected, and Kathryn Hahn is absolutely amazing, as always. The show hits just the right level of spookiness, making it a perfect fit for the Halloween season.

For a story like this, I love diving into this unique corner of Marvel. It doesn’t tie heavily into the larger MCU, but I don’t think it was ever meant to. This is a great standalone Halloween story—silly, yet with just enough edge to keep you guessing.

Additionally, the theme of the show is equally captivating. Agatha All Along sets a spooky tone this season, and as someone who adores all things eerie, I particularly loved the “Ballad of the Witches’ Road.” It delivers a haunting melody from women who are wickedly entertaining.

As the story unfolds, the plot is brewing beautifully, keeping us all under its spell. Each twist and turn reveals new layers of intrigue, drawing us deeper into the world of witches and their magic. The characters’ struggles and triumphs add depth, making it impossible to look away. With every episode, the suspense builds, and the enchanting atmosphere lures us in, leaving us eager for what’s to come. It’s a delightful mix of charm and danger that keeps us on the edge of our seats!
